Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
Since 2005, Dr. Chiariello has offered individual treatment, family therapy and social skills training for patients of all ages. Prior to founding Chiariello Behavioral Health, she has provided clinical services for various school districts and group private practice settings in the southwest suburbs.
Dr. Chiariello specializes in treating a wide range of symptoms and diagnoses, with a primary focus on treating anxiety disorders and inattention.
During treatment, you will identify your goals as Dr. Chiariello helps you improve your decision-making and build the necessary coping skills to put your plans into action. You can expect to experience an integrative approach to treatment. Dr. Chiariello implements components of cognitive behavioral interventions, humanistic approaches, family systems theory and developmental models. Comprehensive treatment may include coordinating your progress with other medical providers and mental health professionals, as needed.
Additionally, Dr. Chiariello is available to help you design your parenting plan and assist with sleep training your child. Moreover, her services may include coordinating care with the local school districts to provide recommendations for IEP/504 Plans, should your child require assistance.
Dr. Chiariello completed her master's and doctoral degrees at Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. Currently, she is credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois.
Najat Williams is a licensed clinical professional counselor with more than 15 years of experience providing therapeutic services for adolescents and adults. She specializes in treating a wide variety of diagnoses. Some of her specialty areas include the treatment of serious mental illness and providing services for the geriatric population. She also offers support for caregivers.
Najat’s approach to therapy is to offer support in a trusting environment. She helps clients achieve their goals by utilizing a skills-based approach. Najat applies elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to assist clients with working through challenges. Her focus with older adults includes acceptance of life stages and preparing for the changes that result from life-limiting illness, dementia, grief and loss.
Najat earned her master’s degree in counseling psychology from Concordia University and is a licensed clinical professional counselor in the state of Illinois. She completed her clinical internship at an ICF-MI facility working with adults diagnosed with serious mental illness. Najat also has extensive experience working in residential mental health settings and nursing home administration.
Licensed School Psychologist
Dr. Vanasse is a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 10 years of clinical and supervisory experience in the provision of therapeutic services and psychological testing for clients of all ages. Prior to joining Chiariello Behavioral Health, Dr. Vanasse provided various levels of behavioral health services in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. She has experience in public and private school settings, outpatient practices and residential programs.
Dr. Vanasse specializes in treating a wide range of disorders, with a focus on treating anxiety, trauma, depression, disruptive behavior, and autism spectrum disorders. At Chiariello Behavioral Health, she offers therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Vanasse also offers parent guidance sessions to promote effective interventions in the home.
During treatment, Dr. Vanasse provides a collaborative approach that focuses on the therapeutic relationship and evidence-based interventions to promote more effective coping. Elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, collaborative proactive solutions, mindfulness and social skills training may be implemented to assist clients in achieving their individual goals.
Dr. Vanasse completed her master’s and doctoral degrees at Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. Currently, she is credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and a Licensed School Psychologist in both Illinois and Massachusetts. As a licensed school psychologist, she is also available to provide consultation and training to schools, upon request.
Denise Colangelo is a licensed clinical social worker with more than 10 years of experience providing therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and young adults. In addition to joining Chiariello Behavioral Health, Denise is the clinical coordinator for a therapeutic day school in the Chicagoland area. Denise provides various levels of clinical and educational services to assist children and adolescents.
Denise specializes in treating various emotional and behavioral issues, ranging from childhood to young adulthood. She collaborates with clients who suffer from symptoms of depression, anxiety and inattention. Denise also has experience treating children and adolescents diagnosed with developmental disorders, such as autism. Her clinical focus is on treating school refusal due to anxiety, depression and trauma. As our group coordinator, Denise will soon be offering group therapy for children to address emotional issues and social skills deficits.
During treatment, Denise applies principles of dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and interpersonal therapy. She integrates family treatment theories to promote more appropriate coping strategies in the home and focuses on helping her clients develop more appropriate responses to daily life stressors. Denise also encourages social skills training to further enhance personal relationships and daily functioning.
Denise completed her master’s degree at the University of Chicago. Currently, she is credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and holds a Type 73 License as a Professional Educator in the state of Illinois. Denise is available to provide consultation and training to parents or school faculty, upon request.
